About me
My name Beth, but in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) I am known as Baroness Dyrfinna Drengsdottir. This blog is dedicated to my exploration of the medieval world view through the lens folklore, ritual and beliefs. I also love the natural world, plants, animals, and gardening. Lucky for me, to our ancestors these things were inextricably combined. My absolute favorite period to learn about is Iron Age Finland, though my projects will often stray to other regions and eras within the general topics of folklore, herbalism and ritual.
