Pentathlon Updates

I did it! I registered for Pentathlon! I figured in for a penny in for a pound, so I did enter five items. We'll see how it goes. I did choose to enter a research paper, and those are due by the registration deadline, so I do have one item done and dusted. That paper is a much more in depth dive into the Ningon Wyrta Galdor (20 ish pages.) Sometimes I have to shake my head at myself for picking a hobby where I voluntarily write 20 pages papers. In other news I have finished the Herbarium book and it is ready to start gluing plants in. Wohoo! I also have *most of the documentation finished for it. The herbarium is a bit unique in that I gave myself a new collection hobby, like medieval plant pokemon, so I'll probably be putting new plants in up until the day of, and certainly long after pentathlon.

I have literally never done any book binding or leatherworking before, so every time I look at the herbarium I think I'm a little in shock that I'm looking at a book and I made it. It does look decidedly book like, I didn't some how knit a sweater instead by accident, nor is quite it lumpy or bumpy as I had assumed my effort would be. I am quite pleasantly surprised.

Two of my other items are complete, one already had documentation turned in, the other is in a rough draft form. Hanging out in last place with the least done is my weaving piece, but frankly I think that's because of the crafts, I'm the most experienced with so I can procrastinate the longest on. That's how that works, right?

Anyway! My kiddo is going to register for the youth division so we are going to be busy around here!
